Models Worth Printing

There are a lot of places to download 3D models. Some are great. A lot are little more than files tossed onto a download site with a picture and a “good luck.”

We think your time and filament are worth more than that.

Big Macks 3D makes practical 3D models designed around the way you actually print. Instead of designing one model and expecting everyone to adapt to it, we use parametric design to make models that can be sized for your needs, made to fit your printer, and designed to assemble properly.

That matters because a model can look great on a screen and still be a terrible thing to print. Maybe it doesn't fit your build volume. Maybe the dimensions aren't quite right. Maybe the pieces don't go together the way you expected. Finding that out after several hours of printing is an expensive way to discover a problem.

That's why we test our models on our own printers. We look at how they print, how the parts fit, and how the finished product actually works. We fix the problems before you have to find them.

We're not trying to build the biggest library of 3D models on the internet. We're trying to build a library of models that are worth printing.

Because your printer isn't free, your filament isn't free, and neither is your time.

How it works

1. Choose Your Printer. Pick your printer from the list at the top of any page, or add it if it isn’t there. Let us know if it’s multicolor and choose your favorite colors. You only do this once, and every model on the site is created to fit your build plate from then on.

2. Choose Your Model and Options. Pick a model, set the dimensions and options, and use the live 3D preview to make sure it’s exactly what you have in mind. Rotate it, flip it, zoom in tight and check out every detail.

3. Choose How You Get It. Want to print it yourself? Download the print-ready files and send them to your slicer. Don't want to spend hours printing and assembling it? Choose print & ship, and we’ll print it for you and send the finished product to your door.

4. MAGIC! Your specifications are used to generate the exact parts you’ll need. We size them to fit your printer’s build volume and plate the parts by your colors. Truly magical results!

Why Big Macks 3D?

I've been building websites since 1993 and spent decades working as a CTO. These days, I'm applying that same engineering mindset and software development background to something a little more tangible: making useful things for 3D printers.

What started with a simple laptop stand turned into an obsession with parametric design, practical accessories, and figuring out how to make 3D printing projects better from the start.

Add your printer

We size every model to your printer, so we need to know how big it can print. It’ll be saved for the next person with the same machine.

These are the printable sizes — the biggest part your printer can actually make, the numbers your slicer shows as the build volume. Not the bed or the removable plate, which are usually a little bigger.

Optional — build plate and printer-stand measurements

The build plate is the removable sheet you pop prints off; it’s usually a little bigger than the printable area. A plate rack is cut to the sheet, not the bed.

A printer stand is built around your printer’s feet. Give us all four and we can build you one — or skip them and add them later. Measure the BASE — the slab it stands on — not the machine’s widest point. Gantry legs, Z columns and X arms usually overhang the base and hold up nothing.

My printers

Every model is sized to the printer doing the printing, and the logo and engraved sizes come as color inlays only where you can print them. The one at the top is the one new configurations start on — pick any row to make it that.

Choose your colors

Every model on the site opens in these three. Primary is the largest surface, secondary the part that contrasts with it, and tertiary the accent — feet, trim, the parts that tie it together.
